By registering you agree to having read and understood all rules provided herein.
- A. No Hacking. You are not permitted to hack the board. Guessing someone else's password and succeeding counts as hacking. Members who hack will instantly be permanently banned without any warnings.
- B. No Discrimination. You may not insult members based on religion, race, sex, political beliefs, etc. This is worse than flaming, because it also hurts other members of the board who fall into the catagory you insult.
- C. No Bullying. Do not pick on other members. The worst kind of bullying is where new members are picked on. This hurts the member as well as the board.
- D. No Flaming. Flaming harms the nice atmosphere of forums. It also causes threads to go off topic and, most importantly, it hurts the person being flamed. The victom may defend themselves against any accusations, but may not make any additional accusations to the flamer (which also counts as flaming).
- E. No profanity or obscene content. This just won't be tolerated on a forum about blog design and development. It's just out of place.
Breaking rules may result in one of the following consequences.
- I. Warning. An announcement will be made that mentions your name and that you have broken a rule. You may also receive an additional message by email, pointing out the infraction.
- II. Muting. You will no longer be able to post on to the forum for a period of time to be decided based on the infraction.
- III. Temporary ban. You will be banned from the forum entirely for a period of time to be decided based on the infraction. Your IP is being logged.
- IV. Permanent ban. You will be banned from the forum, www.sndbx.org, permanently. Period.
The following are guidelines for posting on the forums.
- 1. No advertising. You may not use any third-party Ad Servers or text link ads in your posts, personal message footer, et al. You may not access user lists or user information herein to solicit services and/or products.
- 2. No illegal activity. You are not allowed to use the forums to persue, promote, of participate in any type illegal activity, either in relation to the laws of the Queens County, New York, New York, nor any applicable local laws.
- 3. No double posting or spamming. You may not post more than once in a row in the same thread unless applicable. Double posts will be merged into a single post and may result in your being muted. The only exeption to this rule is if your edit timer (24 hours) for the post has run out, in which case you may double post if you have something important to add. Spamming is also not allowed and will result in an immediate permanent ban.
- 4. No topic bumping. If a topic you created has no replies, you may not repost it. If you made the thread because you need help with something, you may post again so as long as you include additional information about your problem. You must repost this in the same thread and you are not allowed to create more than one thread per topic.
- 5. No posting personal info. You must not post or make accessible any information about yourself that may be used inappropriately and without your knowledge. This is for your protection and the forum's.
- 6. No threatening or abusive behavoir. Do not make threats. Come on, it's a game.
Subsequent amendments are applicable to past, current, and future forum posts.
Amendment A. There are no excuses for breaking the rules. It doesn't matter if you were angry at the time and weren't thinking straight. It doesn't matter if you were only kidding around. If you break a rule, it does the same damage, regardless of your reasons for breaking it, and you will be punished all the same.
Amendment B. Abuse will not be tolerated, especially of and/or by moderators whose job is to help the people, not harm them. You may only use your powers for the purposes that they have been given to you for. There is no limit on how much you may be punished for this severe offense as this must be stopped at all costs to protect the people. This means that if you abuse your powers, there is a good chance you will be permanently banned.
Amendment C. A forum member under the age of 13 may be required to provide written proof of parental consent either by postal mail or by fascilime transmittal in compliance with COOPA Sec. 1303, Article 2.
Amendment D. Breaking the No Hacking provision or any actual and/or perceived duplicitous manipulation of and on the forums will result in a permanent ban with or without warning and/or notification.
These rules may be updated, modified, revised, etc., at any time. You also agree to have read and understood the Terms of Service and have reviewed the Privacy Policy of the Sandbox Designs Competition.
